The Story Behind NPS |
Starting in the industry right out of college in the year 2000, the founder had worked in multiple roles for two other merchant service companies. From calling on merchants directly to running and training agents in house and in the field. Each company had their positives as well as negatives. I felt the industry truly needed a company that had a different outlook to the business owner. It needed an organization that combined the positives, while eliminating those negatives.
In 2003, I took those positives and founded NPS. With the mission of being able to provide cost effective services to a quickly growing merchant base, while the main focus was on servicing that growing client base with live bodies that answer the phone here in the United States and act immediately to any concerns or issues that may have arisen. That focus on actual customer service was what really set us apart from the competition at the time and helped us become one of the fastest growing and respected merchant service companies in the mid 2000’s.

Why NPS Gives |
In 2012, (now in my mid 30’s) the industry had since gone through sweeping changes and we felt the need to further our community efforts. We had dabbled in giving back a portion of our proceeds to a few different organizations by that time, but felt something was missing. What was our purpose behind this? There are so many other companies that are doing the same thing as us. In order to build a legacy and create a difference, we need to MAKE a difference. Being the skeptic I am, I wanted to test market allowing our merchant to choose who they wanted to support…as opposed to telling them who to support. I cannot begin to tell you how that (going forward) positively effected my life; both professionally and personally. We got to meet smaller non profits that really needed the money and by being able to hand them a check and see the look on their faces no matter how much the check was for, caused me to change my outlook on my life as well as this industry.
Now, we are able to use this billion dollar industry to do something GOOD for not only our clients, but worthwhile causes as well as our team (employees and agents) that is known as NPS! |
